ܘܐܬܡܠܟ ܕܘܝܕ ܥܡ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܐ ܕܐ̈ܠܦܐ ܘܡܐ̈ܘܬܐ ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܐ ܘܡܕܒܪ̈ܢܐ ܘܫ̈ܠܝܛܢܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ

David consulted with the captains of thousands and of hundreds, even with every leader.

ܘܐܡܪ ܕܘܝܕ ܠܟܠܗܝܢ ܟܢܘ̈ܫܬܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܐܢܗܘ ܕܫܦܝܪ ܒܥܝ̈ܢܝܟܘܢ ܢܒܥܐ ܡܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܢ ܕܢܣܝܓ ܠܢ ܬܘܪ̈ܥܬܐ ܕܐܚ̈ܝܢ ܕܩ̇ܝܡܝܢ ܒܟܠܗܝܢ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܢܘܬܒ ܥܡܗܘܢ ܟܗ̈ܢܐ ܘܠܘ̈ܝܐ ܒܩܘܪ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܘܒܟܦܪ̈ܘܢܝܗܘܢ ܘܢܬܟܢܫܘܢ ܘܢܐܬܘܢ ܠܘܬܢ

David said to all the assembly of Israel, “If it seems good to you, and if it is of Yahweh our God, let’s send word everywhere to our brothers who are left in all the land of Israel, with whom the priests and Levites are in their cities that have pasture lands, that they may gather themselves to us.

ܘܢܨܠܘܢ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܢ ܘܢܒܥܐ ܡܢܗ ܥܠ ܚ̈ܛܗܝܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܨ̇ܠܝܢ ܗܘܝܢ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ ܒܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ ܕܫܐܘܠ
wntslwn qdm mry' 'lhn wnbe' mnh el khThyn mTl dl' tslyn hwyn qdmwhy bywmth' dsh'wl
Also, let’s bring the ark of our God back to us again, for we didn’t seek it in the days of Saul.”

ܘܐܡܪ̈ܢ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܟܢܘܫ̈ܬܐ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܗܟܢܐ

All the assembly said that they would do so, for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.

ܘܟܢܫ ܕܘܝܕ ܠܟܠܗ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܡܢ ܢܗܪܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܡܥܠܢܐ ܕܐܢܛܝܘܟܝ ܠܡܝܬܝܘ ܩܒܘܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܡܢ ܩܘܪܝܬ ܢܥܪ̈ܝܢ

So David assembled all Israel together, from the Shihor River of Egypt even to the entrance of Hamath, to bring God’s ark from Kiriath Jearim.

ܘܣܠܩ ܕܘܝܕ ܘܟܠܗ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܠܩܘܪܝܬ ܢܥܪ̈ܝܢ ܕܐܝܬ ܒܬܚܘܡ ܐܪܥ ܫܒܛܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܠܡܣܩܘ ܡܢ ܬܡܢ ܠܩܒܘܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܝܬ̇ܒ ܥܠ ܟܪ̈ܘܒܐ ܥ̈ܠܝܐ ܕܐܬܩܪܝ ܫܡܗ ܥܠܘܗܝ

David went up with all Israel to Baalah, that is, to Kiriath Jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up from there God Yahweh’s ark that sits above the cherubim, that is called by the Name.

ܘܣܡ ܩܒܘܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܒܥܓܠܬܐ ܚܕܬܐ ܘܫܩܠܘܗ̇ ܘܢܦܩܘ ܡܢ ܒܝܬ ܐܒܝܢܕܒ ܘܥܐܙܐ ܘܐܚܘܗܝ ܕܒ̇ܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܥܓܠܬܐ

They carried God’s ark on a new cart, and brought it out of Abinadab’s house; and Uzza and Ahio drove the cart.

ܘܕܘܝܕ ܘܟܠܗ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܡܫܒܚܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܒܥܫܝܢܘܬܐ ܘܒܬܫ̈ܒܚܬܐ ܘܒܟܢܪ̈ܐ ܘܒܪ̈ܒܝܥܐ ܘܒܨ̈ܨܠܐ

David and all Israel played before God with all their might, even with songs, with harps, with stringed instruments, with tambourines, with cymbals, and with trumpets.

ܘܐܬܘ ܠܐܕܪ̈ܐ ܕܪ̈ܡܝܢ ܘܐܘܫܛ ܥܐܙܐ ܐܝܕܗ ܠܡܣܡܟܗ̇ ܠܩܒܘܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܪܗܛܘ ܗܘܘ ܠܗܘܢ ܬܘܪ̈ܐ ܠܐܕܪ̈ܐ

When they came to Chidon’s threshing floor, Uzza put out his hand to hold the ark, for the oxen stumbled.

ܘܐܬܚܡܬ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܥܐܙܐ ܘܡܚܝܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܬܡܢ ܥܠ ܕܐܘܫܛ ܗܘܐ ܐܝܕܗ ܥܠ ܩܒܘܬܐ ܘܡܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܬܡܢ ܩܕܡܝܗ̇ ܕܩܒܘܬܐ
w'thkhmth mry' el e'z' wmkhyhy hw' thmn el d'wshT hw' 'ydh el qbwth' wmyth hw' thmn qdmyh dqbwth'
Yahweh’s anger burned against Uzza, and he struck him because he put his hand on the ark; and he died there before God.

ܘܟܪܝܬ ܗܘܬ ܠܕܘܝܕ ܡܛܠ ܕܬܪܥ ܗܘܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܬܘܪܥܬܐ ܒܥܐܙܐ ܘܐܬܩܪܝ ܫܡܗ̇ ܕܕܘܟܬܐ ܗ̇ܝ ܬܘܪܥܬܐ ܕܥܐܙܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܝܘܡܢܐ
wkryth hwth ldwyd mTl dthre hw' mry' thwreth' be'z' w'thqry shmh ddwkth' hy thwreth' de'z' edm' lywmn'
David was displeased, because Yahweh had broken out against Uzza. He called that place Perez Uzza, to this day.

ܘܕܚܠ ܗܘܐ ܕܘܝܕ ܡܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܘܐܡܪ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܐܥܠ ܠܘܬܝ ܩܒܘܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ
wdkhl hw' dwyd mn mry' bywm' hw w'mr 'ykn' 'el lwthy qbwthh dmry'
David was afraid of God that day, saying, “How can I bring God’s ark home to me?”

ܘܠܐ ܨܒܐ ܗܘܐ ܕܘܝܕ ܠܡܥܠܘ ܠܘܬܗ ܩܒܘܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܠܩܪܝܬܗ ܕܕܘܝܕ ܘܐܡܪ ܗܘܐ ܕܘܝܕ ܕܢܘܒܠܘܢܗ̇ ܠܒܝܬܗ ܕܥܘܒܪ ܐܕܘܡ ܓܬܝܐ
wl' tsb' hw' dwyd lmelw lwthh qbwthh dmry' lqrythh ddwyd w'mr hw' dwyd dnwblwnh lbythh dewbr 'dwm gthy'
So David didn’t move the ark with him into David’s city, but carried it aside into Obed-Edom the Gittite’s house.

ܘܝܬܒܬ ܩܒܘܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܒܒܝܬܗ ܕܥܘܒܪ ܐܕܘܡ ܓܬܝܐ ܬܠܬܐ ܝܪ̈ܚܝܢ ܘܒܪܟ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܒܝܬܗ ܕܥܘܒܪ ܐܕܘܡ ܓܬܝܐ ܘܠܟܠܡܕܡ ܕܐܝܬ ܠܗ
wythbth qbwthh dmry' bbythh dewbr 'dwm gthy' thlth' yrkhyn wbrk mry' lbythh dewbr 'dwm gthy' wlklmdm d'yth lh
God’s ark remained with the family of Obed-Edom in his house three months; and Yahweh blessed Obed-Edom’s house and all that he had.
